IT’S A WRAP! THE 8TH KLEFF WAS A ROARING SUCCESS!

The 8th KLEFF held from 16th-18th October 2015 at MAP Publika was an astounding success and saw the culmination of various important partners and stakeholders ranging from indigenous advocacy groups, to environmental NGOs, film making experts and production houses, to green entrepreneurs. THE 2015 KLEFF HIGHLIGHTS
Film Screening And Film Makers
The film screenings were a success and saw the attendance of close to 800 registered number of people who attended the screenings. A total of 116 films were screened over the weekend representing 47 countries. The film screening section was led by EcoKnights Phylbert Tan and Amirah Majid, supported by their amazing crew of volunteers. Opening night was a roaring success as the crowd braved the tropical storm to arrive to catch their favorite eco films. Among the audience’s favorite were Sumatra’s Last Tiger by Harun Rahman and Lara Ariffin, River of Exploding Durians by Edmund Yeo, and of course, Damming our Future and Commerce or Corruption?, by Joe Lam, and Jettie Ward. Film makers and invited guests curated most of the films that were screened throughout 
the weekend.
Other film makers present came from the United States of America (Joe Lamb, Jettie Ward, Amy Benson, Faisal Hossain and Michael Ross), France (Benjamin Capelletti), Indonesia (Nanang Sujang and Rifky Azmi representing Indonesia Nature Film Society), United Kingdom (Dominique and Oliver Laurenson-Gore from Resource productions), Nepal (Ramyata Limbu) and more.

Awards Ceremony
The 8th KLEFF award ceremony was held before the opening night of the film screenings and was a full house with attendees that are from the general public, Green Market exhibitors, film makers (local and international), representatives of sponsors, partners and also supporters.
We would like to congratulate all the film makers who won the respective categories, and a massive shout out to all that has supported us to make the awards ceremony special.

The Green Market And Green Vibes
A total of 76 NGOs and green businesses participated in this year’s Green Market and we are happy to hear that many of them were positive with the reception from the public. Similarly Green Vibes, which was held at the Bee Publika ended the KLEFF Sunday night with a big bang with an awesome selection of local line up. The Venopian Solitude session packed the entire floor of the Bee, much to the delight of the KLEFF Secretariat.

The Performances, Workshops And Exhibitions
Christine Das’ and Alena Murang’s nature-inspired art exhibition was definitely a hit with the general public. Held at White Box, both local artists showcased their beautiful works of art as their commitment and contribution to spreading environmental awareness. In addition, the Square Publika hosted a range of local musicians, performers and even cultural groups. The KLEFF would not be complete without the arrangement of impressive fringe performers at the festival. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and you can view some of the performers on our YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/EcoKnights.
In addition, many of the workshops were popular with the public especially the one on Vegetable Farming for Children and a talk on Aquaponics. We hope to continuously provide the public with engaging programs, workshops and activities that inspire sustainable living.
