October is finally here and it’s time to get ready for the festival weekend!
As a reminder, the 7th Annual KLEFF will be held at MAP Publika from October 17th – 19th 2014. For more information, log on to www.ecofilmfest.my.

The 2014 Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) is pleased to be hosting the 6th Annual Anugerah Hijau Awards Ceremony!
The Anugerah Hijau, an environmentally themed competition for Malaysian youth, will conclude its 2014 campaign with the announcement of the winning projects in Green Film, Green Fashion, and Green Space (Architecture).
The ceremony will take place on 18th October at 3:30pm in the White Box at Publika Mall and will feature project displays, a fashion show, VIP guests, and exciting performers!

Winners of each category will receive RM5,000 and assorted prizes, so come join us in congratulating these young Malaysians on their green projects!
The 7th Annual Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) is not just a source of quality entertainment and environmental education; it’s also a yearly competition for amateur and professional filmmakers.
To recognize the winners across seven competition categories, an awards ceremony featuring local celebrities, VIP guests, and energetic performances will be held.
The event will take place on 19th October at 4:10pm at the Black Box in Publika Mall, Solaris Dutamas.

The Sentinels of Time Photography Competition, this year calling for images of “Urban Nature,” has announced its 2014 finalists!
The competition ran from 29th March until 31st July 2014 and welcomed photographers to submit their “Urban Nature” photographs for a chance to win up to RM2,000 in cash and prizes.
This year’s finalists were selected by two judges: EcoKnights President and CEO, Yasmin Rasyid and professional photographer, Umar Mita . The finalists’ images will be on display at the 2014 KLEFF and can be seen here.
Umar Mita, who will be conducting a photography workshop at this year’s KLEFF, will also be providing the exhibition with six photos of his own. Winners will be announced upon the conclusion of Umar Mita’s workshop, being held 19th October at 12:00pm – 1:30pm at the White Box in Publika Mall.

With 75 films from over 20 different countries, it can be easy to forget that the KLEFF is much more than just a film festival!
One of the prominent features at every KLEFF is the series of environmental workshops and talks offered throughout the weekend. From composting to indoor gardens, there are tons of things to learn from local experts!

As with every year, the KLEFF team has produced an all-inclusive 2014 KLEFF Guidebook to provide festival goers and supporters with easy access to all things KLEFF!
This year’s guidebook features an assortment of articles – including an interview with EcoKnights President Yasmin Rasyid and a “Festival 101” guide to the KLEFF – information on all film screenings, workshops, musical performers and Eco-vendors, and much, much more.
You’ll also notice that the Guidebook features the wonderful peacock artwork provided by Portuguese artist Mariana Baldaia. The image has now become a prominent symbol of the 2014 KLEFF, so be on the lookout for them and our guide books all over KL!
