Hi Visitor,
Greetings from the 7th Annual Kuala Lumpur Eco-Film Festival!
The KLEFF team has been hard at work ramping up for this year’s festival and there are plenty of updates to share!
The KLEFF and EcoKnights crew has spent the last weeks celebrating Earth Month in conjunction with Publika and Malaysian Environmental NGO’s (MENGO). In honor of the annual worldwide event, the group held many talks, workshops, and competitions similar to what will be held at this year’s KLEFF.
As a reminder, the 7th Annual KLEFF will be held at MAP Publika from October 17th – 19th 2014. For more information, log on to www.ecofilmfest.my
The KLEFF recently took part in Earth Month activities at Publika in an effort to bring environmental awareness to the surrounding community.
Monday and Tuesday Movie Night included KLEFF award winning films such as Ningal Aranaye Kando? (Have You Seen The Arana?), Mother Nature's Child, Lost Rivers, Big Dreams Little Bears, Chasing Ice, The Whale, The Fight For Water : A Farmer Worker Struggle, Surviving Progress, and A Fierce Green Fire.
Remember, these films aren’t just for Earth Month. For any duration between one to two hours, KLEFF can bring these award-winning films right to your doorstep any time of year. Whether it’s in your office, college, or community, these films not only entertain, but also inform you of the pressing environmental issues that affect us all.
Schedule a free community screening.
Representatives from KLEFF and EcoKnights were extremely pleased to join Publika in celebrating Earth Month with a variety of talks and workshops.
The month long event featured organizations such as sustainable gardening advocate, Ecocentric Transitions, which hosted Pinhole Camera and Solar Cooker workshops, and Peacemeal Malaysia, which hosted a talk on permaculture and edible gardens.
Though the lineup for workshops and talks has not yet been set for the 2014 KLEFF, these featured Earth Month events are a great example of the quality programming that the KLEFF, EcoKnights, and environmental community at large have to offer.

Ever since the official launch of the 2014 KLEFF the submissions have been rolling in! Entrants from all over the world have been sharing their films with us and we’re excited for what will surely be a diverse selection of films.
Thus far, the KLEFF crew has received two feature film submissions, 11 animations, 27 documentaries, and 64 short films! With such a large pool of films to choose from, and with many more to come, this year’s festival will surely be one to remember.
Though many films have already been submitted, remember that there’s still plenty of time left to contribute to this year’s KLEFF. The final submission deadline is 31st July, 2014, so if you haven’t done so already submit your film to be a part of Malaysia’s largest Eco Film Festival!
REMINDER
Early Bird Submissions are due 15th May 2014!

The KLEFF would not exist were it not for the help and support of our sponsors and partners. Fortunately, the Festival is able to repay such a debt through wonderful and far reaching advertising and branding opportunities!
Apart from the Festival itself (17-19th Oct 2014), the KLEFF also offers many additional marketing opportunities throughout the year. From the KLEFF Programme Guide (25,000 copies) to our monthly e-newsletter (that goes out to 7,000 ++ names in our database) the KLEFF provides an abundance of arenas in which your brand can be advertised.
To get a better idea of what the KLEFF can do for you and your organization, view this year’s Sponsorship Prospectus. Help us help the environment through your sponsorship and support today!
We have been heading to cafes and creative spaces all over KL to promote this year’s festival and to call for further entries. If you see one of our KLEFF Peacock Call for Entries Posters or bookmarks, beautifully designed by Maria Baldaia, take a picture with them and Tweet, Instagram, or Facebook it with the hashtag #KLEFF and #EcoKnights. Don’t forget to tag us too! @EcoKnights!
We’re extremely pleased to announce that the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) will be working in conjunction with the Langkawi International Artcolony (LiAC2014) to bring the First Annual Langkawi Eco Film Festival (LEFF)!
The LEFF will take place on 11 & 12 October, 2014 at Laman Padi Langkawi and will provide the Langkawi International Artcolony with a variety of activities including film screenings, workshops, and exhibitions.
The KLEFF and EcoKnights teams are excited to take part in the LiAC2014 and are delighted by the opportunity to share past KLEFF films with an expanding audience. We’re confident the event will be a huge success and are looking forward to returning to Langkawi for years to come!
That's all for now folks. Thank you for reading!
