It's crunch time for us in the office as we prepare for our biggest flagship program - the international Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF). I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because this is the first time we are pulling off a week long festival and we have expanded so many of our core programs. I'm also excited because we have an amazing line up of activities and programs, and this year, we have had some of the most supportive and encouraging partners and supporters. If you're not on the KLEFF bandwagon yet I urge you to check us out on Facebook, Instagram and our official website at www.kleff.my.
Over the last ten years, I thank you for your belief and support for KLEFF. When it was first organized back in 2008, we were one of the first to merge environmental activism and the arts in the form of a environmental film festival. Many thought it was just a one-off festival in 2008, but we continued and persevered. We went through times with no funds yet we still went on with the festival, albeit smaller in scale. My belief is that if the festival aims to inspire and encourage Malaysians to adopt more sustainable living practices in their lives, we need to ensure that KLEFF is driven through as a household name which acts as a catalyst to push for behavioral and attitudinal change about the environment.
We still have a long way to go and what a journey it has been. We've made it for the past ten years and we are not charting the way for the next decade of quality and award-winning environmental films and engaging programs and activities on sustainability for Malaysians from all walks of life.
See you there at KLEFF, from 23-29th october 2017 at Publika. You won't want to miss this year's programs.
